Letter Of The Day
January 9th 2008 09:39
Dear Sir,
I write in reference to your recent review of the novel Don Quixote. I happened to stumble upon your piece while performing some research in preparation for a personal project of mine.
To be frank, I am appalled. Your reviewing style is inept and you seem determined to do nothing more than to misrepresent one of the most important works in literary history for the sake of what some, and I struggle to imagine exactly who would fall into this group, would consider humour. You made absolutely no effort to analyse the magnificent story which was so ground-breakingly innovative that it remains a shining example, to this day, of undeniably great story telling.
I have a significant issue with you holding yourself out as an expert, critic or commentator on anything with literary merit. I would expect a more insightful piece from my first-year students. You are a disgrace. I sincerely hope that this website of yours meets an unfortunate end as soon as possible. The thought that someone would read your twisted words and somehow take you seriously has left me aghast.
Yours sincerely,
Prof Ian Reynoldson
